The 12 partners of the SHAPE-Med@Lyon project met on February 24, 2023, with Lise Dumasy (Head of the “Excellence in All Its Forms” initiative at the ANR), Giulia Girelli Zubani (Scientific Project Officer), and Marie-Astrid Barreteau (Administrative and Financial Officer for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region at the ANR) to officially launch the project.
SHAPE-Med@Lyon is underway!
The launch conference for the SHAPE-Med@Lyon project began with opening remarks from Frédéric Fleury (President of Université Lyon 1) and Nathalie Dompnier (President of Université Lyon 2). Frédéric Fleury outlined the project’s origins and its objectives regarding innovation in health research and education, the guiding principles of the future Lyon Health Hub 2030, and the two groups of stakeholders (core and associate partners). Nathalie Dompnier presented the project’s governance and key elements, as well as the various mechanisms to be implemented, including the Transdisciplinary Health Institute.
Dominique Pella (Inserm Regional Delegate for Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), Alexandre Pachot (Director of the Hospices Civils de Lyon), Olivier Exertier (WHO International Agency for Research on Cancer), Gérard Pignault (Director of CPE), Jeanne-Marie Bonnet-Garin (Deputy Director General of VetAgro Sup), and Cindy Pages (Director of Medical Strategy, Care Provision, and Research at CHU Le Vinatier) each detailed the synergy between their institution’s research and education strategy and the transformative goals of the SHAPE-Med@Lyon project. They also described how their institutions support the project, their expectations, and how the initiative aligns with site-wide strategies regarding “One Health” and personalized medicine.
Jean-Yves Blay, Scientific Director of SHAPE-Med@Lyon and Director of the Centre Léon Bérard, presented the project’s research and training philosophy and the scientific approaches of the Transdisciplinary Health Institute.
The five key demonstrator areas of the Transdisciplinary Health Institute were then presented by members of the coordination groups. At the end of the meeting, members of the SHAPE-Med@Lyon Executive Board presented the first Call for Expressions of Interest launched by the Transdisciplinary Health Institute since its inception in December 2022.
